Biju Health Welfare Yojana will be lost after 6 years of running. Ayushman Bharat-Gopbandhu Jan Arogya Yojana will be implemented. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi allocated Rs 3,556 crore to his government’s first budget for this. 500 crore rupees have been earmarked for the Ayushman Bharat-Jan Arogya Yojana of the central government, while 3 thousand 56 crore rupees have been set aside for Gopbandhu Jan Arogya Yojana to be run from the state’s funds.
The big question is, how will the new government plan to replace BSKY, which was started on August 15, 2018? Which beneficiaries will be covered by which plan? Are the beneficiaries of both schemes going to get the same benefits? This is the question on people’s minds now.
About 96 lakh 50 thousand BPL and APL families in the state are getting health insurance services under BSKY. According to the information received from the health department, all these families will be included in the two new health insurances. Aimed at BPL only, Ayushman India will involve around 60 percent of BSKY’s shareholders. The remaining 40 percent of beneficiaries will be included in the state government’s own Gopbandhu Jan Arogya Yojana.
Although Ayushman India has a health insurance scheme of Rs 5 lakh for both men and women, the state health department is preparing a modality to provide health insurance of Rs 10 lakh for women like BSKY under this scheme. Even so, the beneficiaries of both schemes will have access to medical services in hospitals affiliated with Ayushman Bharat and BSKY.
