Teaching Jobs: In response to a written question in Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Union Minister of State for Education Sukant Majumdar said that more than 5,100 teaching posts are vacant in central universities across the country.
5182 posts vacant, 7650 posts filled:
The minister said, “As of October 31, 5,182 teaching posts were vacant in central universities. More than 7,650 teaching posts have been filled in central universities through a special recruitment campaign.”
He said, “The creation of vacancies and filling them is a continuous process. These vacancies arise due to retirement, resignation, and additional requirements due to the increased number of students; the responsibility of filling the posts lies with the central universities.”

CU-Selection recruitment portal also launched:
Majumdar said the ministry and the University Grants Commission (UGC) regularly monitor the institutions and central universities have been directed to fill up vacancies regularly. UGC has launched an integrated recruitment portal called CU-Selection in May 2023 to provide a common platform for listing vacancies/advertisements/jobs in all central universities.”
